Adrianne ran not knowing where her feet would take her. Her long white cloak flowing behind her as she ran though the corridors of the castle trying her hardest to lose her pursuer, no matter how fast she ran she could hear calm foot steps behind her.
Adrianne knew she had to find the main hall in order to get out, but it seemed the castle had a mind of its own. Each passage that she took was not familiar to her. She prayed that she would get out alive. Adrianne ran past a gated door that looked familiar, knowing she didn’t have much time before he caught up with her, she pulled on the bars and the door opened. The room was small and had two marble steps leading up to another gated door. Adrianne dove for the door hoping to God that it would open as well. Smiling to herself at the thought of being free from her prison, she wrapped her fingers around the bars and pulled. The bars did not budge. Adrianne’s heart sank as she shook the gate, knowing that her captor would soon be upon her Adrianne had to get out of that room before he caught up. She let go of the bars and began to turn around when a voice that shook her to her bones rang out,

“Going somewhere my pet?”

“Titus.” Adrianne gasped as she turned around to face him. His tall figure overshadowing her, and his piercing blue eyes looking into her own green eyes, Adrianne backed up into the barred entrance, she had nowhere to run.

“Now as I was saying, were you going somewhere?” Titus asked as he slowly walked up the small steps and stopped on the stair below where Adrianne stood, her heart leapt into her throat and she tried to speak, but the words never found a voice. Her body frozen in fear as she closed her eyes tightly, while Titus smirked at her reaction as he reached for a dagger concealed on his hip and grasped it in his right hand.

“You should have known better than to run from me my pet.”

His left hand raised to caress her cheek and raise her head so she could look at him. Adrianne slowly opened her eyes to his soft touch. Her eyes sparkled in fear waiting for Titus to make his move, she began to shake.
Watching her quiver made Titus smile as he brought the dagger into view, immediately causing Adrianne to squirm even more as he waved it back and forth as her eyes followed the daggers every move.

“Now, now my dear Adrianne, you know no matter where you go I’ll find you.”

She watched as he stopped waving the dagger and pointed it towards her heart. Her mouth was dry, but some how she managed to find her voice and the courage to speak.

Now that you have found me Titus, what are you planning to do kill me?”

Titus laughed at the question she had presented him with. He smiled at her and spoke heartily,

“What a novel idea Adrianne, my pet”

He stroked her cheek again and placed the point of the dagger near her heart and began to gently push the dagger into her while twisting the blade back and forth.
The point of the blade worked its way though her cloak and dress making its way to her skin. Adrianne let out a squeaky scream as the dagger pierced her skin and sank deeper into her chest. Each turn becoming more painful as the blade dug deeper causing her to let out whimpers and squeaky screams with each pass. With one last twist Titus pulled out the dagger and Adrianne sank to her knees, clutching her wound as the blood slowly trickled though her slender fingers.

“Now did you learn anything Adrianne?” Titus asked as he grabbed the nape of Adrianne’s cloak
and pulled her to her feet.
Adrianne nodded as tears ran down her cheeks and she applied more pressure to her new wound.

“Good.”

Titus raised the dagger once more and plunged it deep into Adrianne’s chest, piercing her heart. She gasped and sputtered as she grabbed Titus’s shirt. She looked at him one last time, that evil smirk still remained on his lips, as her world became darker and darker. Adrianne lost her grip and Titus backed away and to the side as Adrianne’s limp body fell and landed with a heavy thud. Her now lifeless body laid on the stairs, her head on the marble floor, blood now pooling and soaking her brown hair and running under her arms.

“Good-bye pet. You have been my favorite by far.” Titus smiled to himself as he kicked Adrianne’s body over. She had been the most beautiful of his victims.

“Well there will be others, but none as fun as her.”
Titus pulled the dagger out of Adrianne’s lifeless body and sheathed it. Smiling malevolently as he walked out of the chamber and into the darkness of the corridor.
